Connect With Us

With the help of the Internet and other new technologies, we can provide a more robust public forum than ever before. That means you'll be more connected to Michigan Radio, and your voice will matter in the ongoing discussion.

The whole Michigan Radio team is active on our social media sites. On Facebook and Twitter, we'll try to include a first name or initials when posting updates so that you know who's talking. You can find more info on our Staff page.

If we're not adequately serving your preferred social network, please contact web content administrator Nick Meador at ndmeador@umich.edu.

The Michigan Radio Fan Page on Facebook is the recommended place for in-depth interaction. Here you'll find links to big stories and events, fun excursions, photos from the station, RSS news feeds, and more. You can ask us questions and interact with other fans. You'll even find podcast players for Michigan Radio and NPR!

We also have fan pages for these Michigan Radio projects:
Facing the Mortgage Crisis
Generation Y Michigan

Twitter is evolving into a dynamic public forum between journalism organizations and citizens in the audience. We send our state news headlines to our Twitter account with convenient links to articles on our website.

To give us a news tip or ask a question, just post an update with the term "@michiganradio" (or send us a direct message). If you re-tweet one of our stories, please use hashtags (or keywords) like these: #news, #michigan, #npr. That will help others find the stories.

Here's a list of our other Twitter accounts:
Jack Lessenberry
West Side Stories
Artpod
The Environment Report
Michigan Radio News
Michigan Radio Arts
Facing the Mortgage Crisis
Michigan Radio Picture Project
Generation Y Michigan
Three Things

We're developing a collection of stock photography taken by the Michigan Radio audience. You can contribute your own photos and interact with other photographers at our new Flickr group.

By submitting your photos to this group, you are agreeing to let us use them. Possible uses include with news stories, on our website banner, and on other Michigan Radio social media (i.e. - Facebook, Twitter, etc). You will receive full credit if we use your photo, but we cannot provide other compensation. We recommend posting your content under a Creative Commons 3.0 license. You should be able to change your license default here.

The "Support Michigan Radio" Cause on Facebook is a new way to help keep your NPR news station running strong. At this time, we cannot accept donations through this Cause. To become an active Michigan Radio member, please visit our official pledge form.

There's also a Facebook group called "Michigan Radio Listeners," if you prefer to interact with other audience members that way.

Michigan Radio listener John Ridley helped us set up a news story feed on our LiveJournal account.

Our group on FriendFeed will consolidate most of our web activity, including our top stories, Twitter, YouTube, Flickr, Jack's Essays, and Facing the Mortgage Crisis.

With our group on LinkedIn, you can participate with other Michigan Radio enthusiasts in a professional social networking environment.

If MySpace is your preferred social network, you can use this page to see news feeds, listen to NPR podcasts, and interact with friends.

Michigan Radio now has a Google Group, yet another way to stay involved.

Check out the Michigan Radio YouTube channel, where we'll be posting our series, documentaries, and other video content.
