Brewer estimates 160,000 commuters every week will see the billboard including (if he’s looking) the governor himself. She&rsquo;s a case worker at a&nbsp;<a href="http://www.grsource.org/about.php">non-profit organization, </a>and she&rsquo;s never run for political office before.</p><p>&ldquo;I think it&rsquo;s time for some new eyes. It seems that the direction we&rsquo;re heading in Lansing is not what our middle class needs; it&rsquo;s not what our schools need. And not being part of that negative history, sure, I think that&rsquo;s a good thing,&rdquo; Brinks said.</p><p>Brinks has lived in Grand Rapids for 22 years. The 44-year-old has three daughters, aged 11, 14, and 16. She&rsquo;s active in her public schools&rsquo; legislative committee and once worked for Godfrey Lee Public Schools. She says restoring education funding would be one of her top priorities.</p><p>&ldquo;We&rsquo;ve got a lot of work to do in a short period of time, but I am confident we can do it. We&rsquo;ve got a lot of good energy. The Secretary of State&rsquo;s office says Mojzak changed his address from one in neighboring Ottawa County to one within the district just this week. It will allow Democrats to get a head start on campaigning in those races for the November 2012 election.</p><p>The endorsements will come several months before Democrats can officially nominate candidates to run for those offices. The Congressman is set to testify at 2:30 p.m..</p><p><strong>Original post 6:59 a.m.:</strong></p><p>Michigan Democrats have drawn a new <a href="http://michiganradio.org/post/redistricting-drawing-political-maps">congressional map</a> that would pit Republican Congressman Thaddeus McCotter of Livonia against Democratic Congressman Gary Peters of Oakland County&#39;s Bloomfield Township, according to the Associated Press. A copy of the map was obtained by the AP from the Michigan Democratic Party.</p><p>Michigan is <a href="http://michiganradio.org/post/making-sense-redistricting">losing one of its 15 congressional seats</a> due to a <a href="http://michiganradio.org/post/census-shows-michigan-only-state-lose-population">loss of population in the past 10 years</a>.
