Northern Arts

We spend a lot of time exploring the world of arts and culture from Detroit to Grand Rapids and everywhere in between. But what about up north? Michigan Radio's arts reporter Jennifer Guerra takes a trip up north to spend some time around the campfire with a group of northern Michigan musicians visit to the deep woods of Mancellona for a lesson in the fine art of letter press and more.

Earthwork Music

Michigan Radio's Jennifer Guerra caught up with a group of northern Michigan musicians at their campsite to talk about their music and the lovely peninsula they like to call home.

Deep Wood Press

Michigan Radio's Jennifer Guerra dropped by his Deep Wood Press studio for a lesson in the fine art of letterpress. Chad Pastotnik is hard at work, perfecting a craft that's been around for centuries.

Bay Bucks

The Grand Traverse area has its own currency, but not too many people know about it. Michigan Radio's Jennifer Guerra reports on how local artists hope to change that.

Art Farm

Welcome to Art FarmM Camp. It's a week-long, outdoor classroom for kids. Kind of like a mini artist in residence program. There's no running water, no electricity, no working bathrooms. Just 54 acres of gardens, meadows, woods, and creeks.
