Detroit public school board gets a reset

Detroit has itself a new school board chosen from a field of 63 candidates. Bridge Magazine reporter Chastity Pratt Dawsey joined Stateside to talk about the seven winners and what’s ahead for them.

Of the seven winners, only one of them, LaMar Lemmons, served on the prior school board and, as Pratt Dawsey pointed out, there was “little name recognition" among the winners.

We explore the challenges the new school board faces and the legacy it has to overcome.
