Dow Chemical is making changes to its corporate footprint in Michigan.

Dow Chemical officials say the company plans to build a new building on its corporate headquarters campus in Midland.

The six-story, 150,000 square foot building will replace an older building which will be torn down. The new building will also be smaller. The company is not saying how much the new building will cost.

“The new building will create an environment that enables a new and improved way of doing business – focused on collaboration and innovation-driven business practices,” says Dow Chemical spokeswoman Rachelle Schikorra. “The new facility will provide multiple advantages, offering greater efficiencies in energy, land and water use, and will improve operational costs over the long-term.”

Dow Chemical officials hope to open their new corporate campus building in 2017.

Dow Chemical has been a cornerstone of Midland’s economy since the late 1800’s.
