Volunteers have been collecting signatures on recall petitions since Easter Sunday

Time is running out for the petition drive to recall Governor Rick Snyder.

A spokesman says the Stop Snyderpetition drive has collected around 400,000 signatures.

But they’ll need nearly 800,000 valid signatures by the end of the month to put the recall on the ballot.

“I think we’re in good shape,” says Julius Austin, with the Stop Snyder campaign. “You’ll definitely continue to see activity around the state of Michigan.”

Austin says Michigan’s emergency manager law is a top reason cited by many people signing the recall petition.
