Howes: When will we see dropping test scores as a threat to Michigan’s economy?

"My real frustraition here is I don't see this getting back on track," Howes said about the lack of action to address what he sees as a talent gap in Michigan.

 

 

The SAE World Congress is happening this week at Cobo Center in Detroit. Engineers and technical experts in the aerospace, automotive, and commercial vehicle industries are all looking ahead to the future of mobility. 

 

The message is that companies that hope to have a future in that world need a steady pipeline of talent. 

 

DanielHowesDetroit News business columnist, joined Stateside to count the ways in which Michigan is a chronic under-achiever in producing the talent its auto companies must have to stay viable.
