The spring warm up is on hold as cold weather and moisture head our way.

We got a taste of it, so no worries, spring will be here soon enough. Winter just isn't ready to say goodbye yet.

The region will see colder than normal temperatures for the next week, and rain, snow, ice - you name it - is coming with those cold temperatures.

Here are the forecasts from the National Weather Service:

Detroit/Ann Arbor - Winter Storm Warning

Late season winter storm to impact southeastern Michigan tonight through Wednesday...

A winter storm watch remains in effect from 8 pm this evening through 8 pm Wednesday evening.

Significant icing of power lines and tree limbs is possible tonight and Wednesday.

Roadways may become ice covered and slippery Tuesday night and Wednesday...which may have a negative impact on the Wednesday morning commute.

A pattern of rain showers this evening may change to a wintry mix of freezing rain...sleet...and snow...depending on how much cold air can move into the region from eastern Canada. Intensity of the mixed precipitation may increase after midnight and carry into midday Wednesday. The potential exists for ice accumulations of greater than a quarter inch.

The watch remains in effect for this region due to substantial uncertainty regarding how cold surface temperatures will become during the night.

Lansing and Grand Rapids - Winter Storm Watch

Winter storm warning in effect from 7 pm this evening to 8 pm edt Wednesday:

Roads will become icy and slippery tonight into Wednesday. The morning and evening commutes on Wednesday will be impacted.

Heavy freezing rain and sleet could accumulate on tree limbs and power lines...causing them to break and fall. Power outages are possible. Some schools may be closed Wednesday.

Rain and thunderstorms today will change over to sleet and freezing rain tonight and continue into wednesday before tapering off.

A third to half an inch of ice accumulation is possible tonight into wednesday morning. Occasional thunderstorms could lead to periods of heavier precipitation rates.

East winds of 20 to 30 mph may contribute to knocking down trees and power limbs weighted down by ice.

Flint/Saginaw - Winter Storm Watch

Roadways will likely become covered with snow and ice tonight and Wednesday...with a significant impact to the Wednesday morning commute.

Snow will spread over the region during the evening...increase intensity...and then become mixed with sleet during the night before ending as all snow Wednesday. The peak intensity of this precipitation is expected to run from about midnight tonight through noon Wednesday.

Total snowfall of 5 to 10 inches is expected. Snow accumulation will be closer to 5 inches along and south of a Saginaw to Sandusky line...where a greater mix of sleet is expected.

Precipitation rates will be excessive at times with thunder also possible.

Kalamazoo - Flood Warning

Today and tonight

Freezing rain...snow and sleet are expected for the region roughly along and north of a Grand Haven to Jackson line beginning late this afternoon or evening. Hazardous travel conditions are expected due to icing and accumulating snow. Gusts over 30 mph combined with the build up of ice on trees and power lines will likely lead to areas of power outages...especially tonight.

A risk for thunderstorms exists for this afternoon into tonight. Severe weather is not forecasted. Small hail and occasional cloud to ground lightning strikes will be the main hazard.

The precipitation will taper off on Wednesday. Gusty winds could persist. Travel will likely still be impacted and areas of power outages appear likely.
