Former gymnastics doctor Larry Nassar is serving what amounts to a life sentence for federal child pornography charges. He was sentenced to an additional 40-175 years in state prison after pleading guilty to sexual assault in two Michigan counties.
Nassar now wants a new sentence in Ingham County, where his lawyers say he was treated unfairly by Judge Rosemarie Aquilina.
This comes a day after U.S. senators focused on how the former Michigan State University sports doctor was able to sexually assault women and girls for years.
The senators questioned former Michigan governor John Engler about his leadership as interim president at MSU in the wake of the Nassar scandal.
