Developers will try once again to turn one particular piece of prime downtown Lansing real estate from a vacant lot to upscale housing.
The land sits across the street from the state Supreme Court building.
Several times in the past decade high profile plans were announced only to fail.
Developer David Ferguson says this time will be different, even though his plans call for a similar mix of townhouses and apartments.
“I strongly feel what we have is the right product for this time,” says Ferguson.
One key component in Ferguson’s plan is the Michigan Association of Broadcasters. The Radio and TV group plans to move its Lansing headquarters to the new development.
There are still a few hurdles for the project to overcome, like receiving approvals from city planning agencies.
Ferguson plans to break ground on the $12 million project in the Spring.
