The public picks its Top 20 in this year's ArtPrize competition

ArtPrize

The annual ArtPrize competition is moving into its final phase in Grand Rapids.

Organizers have announced the top 20 finalists in the public voting for the $200,000 grand prize.

Dominic Pangborn of Grosse Pointe is one of the finalists. He says he’s enjoyed meeting with the people visiting ArtPrize this year.

“The biggest experience is for them to be able to meet the artist – talk to them and share,” says Pangborn. “And that’s what I get a kick out of.”

The second round of ArtPrize voting runs through Thursday.

Art experts will also pick the winner of a separate $200,000 grand prize

In all, ArtPrize will award $560,000.

More than 1,500 works of art remain on display at venues across Grand Rapids through October 12.
