U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow (D-MI) says she has concerns about some of the individuals President Trump is considering naming to the U.S. Supreme Court.

Though she declines to say which of the prospective candidates to fill the vacancy on the nation’s highest court concern her.

Trump is promising to select a "great" Supreme Court nominee to fill the vacancy of retiring Justice Anthony Kennedy. He’s expected to name his choice Monday.

The president said Tuesday he "hit a home run" with Justice Neil Gorsuch, whom he picked for the nation's high court last year. Trump says, "We're going to hit a home run here."

Michigan’s senior U.S. senator says she considers respecting “settled law” an important trait in the next U.S. Supreme Court Justice.

“When I say settled law I mean not only Roe v Wade,” says Stabenow, “I mean the Affordable Care Act.   I mean making sure people with pre-existing conditions have access to affordable health care for themselves.  Rolling back that precedent would be devastating.”

Stabenow is also concerned how a new justice will rule on voting rights, worker protections and the environment.
