Snyder ends prison food contract, proposes “modest” increases for roads, schools

Governor Snyder today presented his eighth and final budget to the state legislature.

Zach Gorchow of Gongwer News Service joined Stateside from Lansing to explain what jumps out at him most in the governor’s budget.

“I think you’d have to say the governor’s announcement that he no longer believes the state should have prison food service run by a private company – that service should once again be run by state employees," he said.
