The state Supreme Court says Michigan State University does not have to release the names of 301 student-athletes listed as suspects in police reports while a freedom of information case is on appeal.

The ESPN network wants the names as part of an investigation into whether colleges treat student-athletes suspected of crimes differently than other students.

MSU was facing a court-ordered deadline of today to release the names.
