12:10 a.m.

  • Republican Secretary of State Ruth Johnson has defeated Democratic challenger Godfrey Dillard in her bid for a second four-year term as Michigan's top elections and driver services official.
  • Republican Bill Schuette has been re-elected to a second term as Michigan's attorney general.  Schuette defeated Democrat Mark Totten and other candidates in Tuesday's general election.

  • Republican Mike Bishop wins over Democrat Eric Schertzing in Michigan’s 8th Congressional District. Republicans retain control of the seat with the win.

  • Republican Dan Benishek wins 3rd term in Congress representing northern Michigan's 1st District.
  • Democrat Dan Kildee wins 2nd term in US House, defeating Republican challenger Allen Hardwick.
  • Republican U.S. Rep. Tim Walberg has won a fourth term in Congress, beating former state lawmaker Pam Byrnes in southern Michigan's 7th District.

Tuesday, November 4th, 11:30 p.m.

  • Republican Fred Upton has been reelected in the U.S. House of Representatives, District 6, Michigan.

Tuesday, November 4th, 11:08 p.m.  

  • Republican David Trott has won election to a Detroit-area U.S. House seat over a Democrat and the GOP incumbent who launched a write-in campaign after losing in the August primary. Trott, a lawyer and businessman, beat Democratic counterterrorism expert Bobby McKenzie and freshman Rep. Kerry Bentivolio to serve the GOP-leaning 11th District.

  • Republican U.S. Rep. Bill Huizenga  has won a third term, defeating Democratic challenger Dean Vanderstelt in Michigan's 2nd District.

 Tuesday, November 4th, 10:34 p.m.

  • Republican U.S. Rep. Amash wins re-election in Grand Rapids-area district, beating Democrat Goodrich.
  • U.S. Rep. Sander Levin has been re-elected to Congress from suburban Detroit. The 83-year-old Democrat won his 17th term Tuesday, easily defeating Republican business owner George Brikho and two other candidates.

Tuesday, November 4th, 10:18 p.m.

Gary Peters (D) was one of the first races called in Michigan as he defeated Terri Lynn Land (R) for Michigan's open seat in the U.S. Senate.

Here are some of the other races that have been called:

  • Republican John Moolenaar has been elected to the U.S. House in Michigan's 4th District, succeeding Dave Camp.
  • Democrat Debbie Dingell has won the 12th District House seat to succeed her husband, John, who is retiring as the longest-serving member of Congress.
  • Republican U.S. Rep. Candice Miller has been re-elected to her seventh term in Congress.
  • Democrat John Conyers holds 13th District seat to win 26th consecutive term in Congress.
  • Democrat Brenda Lawrence has been elected to the U.S. House of Representatives, District 14, Michigan.

Mark Brush was the station's Digital Media Director. He succumbed to a year-long battle with glioblastoma, an aggressive brain cancer, in March 2018. He was 49 years old.
