"This is an issue that can be counteracted, but it takes a kind of collective problem solving," Pales said about their findings on campaign finances in Michigan state elections.

 

 

The subject of campaign finance isn't something many voters spend much time thinking about. 

 

But a group of MSU students has just wrapped up a class that had them exploring the money in state politics, and it was eye-opening. 

Eli Pales and Ian Hawley, journalism students at Michigan State University who worked on theCapital ExpenditureProject, joined Stateside to tell us about what they learned.
