The on-air fundraiser, which ran from April 4 – 11, generated 4,664 pledges totaling more than $594,000. Of that, over $200,000 was raised from first time donors to the station.

March 14, 2008 - FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - Michigan Radio Named MAB Public Radio Station of the Year ANN ARBOR, Mich.— Michigan Radio, the public radio service from the University of Michigan, has been named Public Broadcasting Station of the Year for 2007 by the Michigan Association of Broadcasters (MAB). The award was announced Tuesday evening at the Michigan Association of Broadcaster’s annual Great Lakes Broadcasting Conference, held in Grand Rapids. This is the fifth year in a row Michigan Radio has been named Public Radio Station of the Year.

Michigan Radio Wins 13 Awards for Excellence in Journalism July 2, 2007
ANN ARBOR, MI - Michigan Radio, the public radio service of the University of Michigan,
has received 13 awards for excellence in journalism from the Society of
Professional Journalists, Detroit Metropolitan Chapter for news
coverage in 2006. SPJ Awards for each chapter are judged by an
impartial outside chapter to ensure that each entry is given an
unbiased review. These entries were judged by the Indiana SPJ Chapter.

Michigan Public Media Welcomes New Underwriting Manager May 30, 2007
ANN ARBOR, MI - Michigan Public Media, the public broadcasting service from the
University of Michigan, has hired public broadcasting veteran and
Detroit native Kathy Agosta as its new underwriting manager. Agosta
will head the corporate support department for Michigan Radio and
Michigan Television starting July 2nd.

Michigan Radio Investigates State’s Economic Future May 30, 2007
ANN ARBOR, MI - Michigan Radio, the public radio service from the University of Michigan, is set to cover this year’s Mackinac Policy Conference. During the week of May 28, the station will air special reports on Michigan’s economy and other topics to be discussed at the conference, followed by a one-hour special program from the conference on Friday, June 1 at 9 am.

Press Release - New Tower Unveiled In West Michigan January 30, 2007
GRAND
RAPIDS, Mich.— Michigan Radio, the public radio service from the
University of Michigan, has finished construction and begun
broadcasting from its new tower in West Michigan. The new tower has
improved reception throughout 104.1 FM’s West Michigan coverage area,
with the most significant improvements in Eaton, Ingham, Ionia, Kent,
Muskegon, and Ottawa counties.
