Issues & Ale: The Future of Detroit Schools
Wednesday, March 18, 6:00PM-7:30PM
Detroit Beer Company
1529 Broadway
Detroit, MI 48226

Over the past decade, going to school in Detroit has changed dramatically. More Detroit kids now attend charter schools than traditional public schools, and the district has been under some kind of state control for 12 out of the past 15 years. Despite these changes, most people feel that the situation in the city's schools has gotten worse, not better.
A capacity crowd heard Michigan Radio's Jennifer White host this State of Opportunity discussion about the future of Detroit's schools, featuring panelists: State Rep. Sherry Gay-Dagnogo, Armen Hratchian (Excellent Schools Detroit) and Chastity Pratt Dawsey (Bridge Magazine)
Issues and Ale is an event series from Michigan Radio designed to engage people in conversations about important issues facing Michigan...in an informal atmosphere.
