Flint Truck Assembly workers vote to ratify contract with GM

More than 60% of Flint Truck Assembly plant workers voted to approve a tentative contract with General Motors.

But union member Sean Crawford voted no, partly because the tentative deal allows GM to permanently shutter three plants in Ohio, Michigan, and Maryland.

"And that's really a shame," says Crawford. "It's going to be a huge detriment to the communities in which those plants are located."

Crawford also says he wanted the deal to eliminate pay disparities among different groups of workers, which it didn't do.

Ratification is not a certainty yet. Union members at several other large GM plants have yet to vote, including Arlington Assembly in Texas and Wentzville Assembly in Missouri.

The union will release final results on Friday.
