Tired of giving the same pitches in the same offices?

Do you have a great idea but lack the environment in which to present it?

Then tryEntre-SLAM!

Entrepreneurs itching to share their ideas in a new format, look no further.

Entre-SLAM is a monthly storytelling competition for entrepreneurs.

The founders of Entre-SLAM, Jeannie Ballew and Christa Chambers-Price and the host of the events, Al McWilliams, spoke today with Cyndy.

“It provides an opportunity for entrepreneurs to tell their stories in a way that is authentic and real,” said Chambers-Price.

For McWilliams, much of the event’s thrill comes from the mix diverse groups of presenters.

“You have people with very alternative-based businesses. You have MBA’s at Ross Business School that are launching the next ap…It’s very leveling and engaging,” said McWilliams.

There are several rules presenters must follow.

“It has to be five minutes. It can’t be pitch-y. You don’t want to go up there and sell us your wares. It has to be true and on theme,” said McWilliams.

The aim is to create an environment that differs from pitch meetings.

Chambers-Price and Ballew are planning to expand Entre-SLAM.

“We are actually bringing people into Ann Arbor. There is a company that we are interviewing that is interested in providing party buses for us. We’re actually going to bring in groups of people who want to get into Ann Arbor,” said Chambers-Price.
