Michigan Radio and GLC Live at 20 Monroe will present a live performance of The MOTH Mainstage in Grand Rapids on Thursday, June 15 at 7:30 p.m. The MOTH Mainstage features a line-up of writers, performers, and other unique national and Michigan storytellers, each with a ten-minute story to tell live without notes.

The 27th Annual Exhibition of Artists in Michigan Prisons showcases the hard work and talents of artists incarcerated in Michigan prisons.
The work is by men and women from all 25 state prisons in both the upper and the lower peninsulas: 24 men’s prisons and 1 women’s prison.
This year there are 645 works in two and three dimensions, including portraits, tattoo imagery, landscapes, fantasy, and wildlife as well as images about incarceration and visions that are entirely new.
We invite you to enjoy the work and, if you like, make a purchase. All proceeds, minus necessary taxes and fees, go directly to the artists.

A donation will be made to the World Wildlife Fund for each concert.

The theme is RAIN: From light drizzles to hurricanes, prepare a five-minute story about precipitation. Does it leave you feeling glum or make you want to sing? Ruined plans and unexpected joys. Getting drenched and making all efforts to stay dry. Itsy bitsy spiders and old men who can’t get up in the morning. Tell us about an experience with the rain; pour out your heart!
*This venue is 18+, Seating is not guaranteed and is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Please be sure to arrive at least 10 minutes before the show. Admission is not guaranteed for late arrivals. All sales final.

Audra McDonald has secured her place atop Broadway’s pantheon with a record-breaking six Tony Awards, the only actor ever to achieve the Tony Grand Slam. Blessed with a luminous soprano and an incomparable gift for storytelling, she is equally at home on Broadway and opera stages and in roles on film and television (Private Practice, The Good Fight). A 2015 National Medal of Arts recipient, she was a founder of Black Theatre United in 2020 and is also a committed advocate for at-risk youth and LGBTQ equality, among other causes.

Michigan Softball Academy unites the community behind the American Cancer Society's efforts to save lives from cancer.
The Michigan Softball Academy benefitting the ACS will take place on Thursday, April 27, 2023! At this one-of-a-kind event, 250+ community members participate in the two-hour instructional clinic from University of Michigan Softball players and coaches on how to hit, throw, pitch, field and run the base, followed by a social mixer & silent auction. You can register a team or register as an individual participant.

The Moth is dedicated to finding intriguing people to tell inspired stories. At The Moth StorySLAM, those people find us. On this night, using words as weapons, they compete to determine The Moth's Ann Arbor GrandSLAM Story Champion.

Youth between the ages of 12-17 are invited to join the felines at Tiny Lions once a month for a special Teen Mewvie Night! Pop and popcorn are included, but you're also welcome to bring any snacks and drinks of your own choice. While Tiny Lions does have some comfy chairs, we recommend you bring any pillows, sleeping bags or blankets you'd like to use (just remember: the cats will likely be snuggling with you)!

Parents, this is a drop-off event, but the program is supervised by TLC staff and volunteers. We request that parents arrive promptly for pick-up by 9:30 pm. Unfortunately, Tiny Lions does not have the staff to supervise participants after the program ends.

What could be more fun than spending your Friday night with our furry friends at the Humane Society of Huron Valley?
This paw-tastic event is appropriate for ages 6 to 11 and includes adoptable animal interaction, a cheese pizza dinner, and an animal-themed movie with popcorn! Children are invited to wear their pajamas, bring a sleeping bag and pillow and be ready for some animal-themed fun while parents enjoy a night to themselves! We’re sorry – but we are unable to accommodate private groups of 5 or more kids.
Dinner is served from 5:50-6:15 pm, movie begins at 6:50 pm.
