Have your say on Michigan renewable energy report by Wednesday
Wednesday is the deadline to comment on a report that's likely to shape renewable energy standards in Michigan. People can submit comments on the state’s website here.
The state-issued report says renewable energy production is getting cheaper and more efficient. In Michigan, the vast majority is from wind turbines.
The report suggests Michigan utilities could get at least 30% of their energy from renewable sources by 2035. Right now they’re expected to reach 10% by 2015.
The report was done by officials with the Michigan Public Service Commission and the Michigan Energy Office. It was released about three weeks ago. It is one in a series of reports.
Governor Snyder is expected to use the final report to make policy recommendations to state lawmakers.
