South Haven High School teacher and coach to receive Congressional Medal of Honor
He spent 40 years teaching geography, sociology and psychology at South Haven High School.
He coached football, wrestling and baseball, and he made it into the Michigan High School Coaches Hall of Fame.
But another honor awaits James McCloughan next month.
That’s when the former Army combat medic heads to the White House, where President Trump will present him with the Congressional Medal of Honor.
McCloughan is being honored for the courage he showed in rescuing and treating his wounded comrades during the Battle of Nui Yon Hill in Vietnam in May 1969.
