Appeals court to Kilpatrick: "Whatever..."

A federal appeals court has no interest in taking a second look at the corruption case of former Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick.

The decision means Kilpatrick will continue serving a 28-year prison sentence unless the U.S. Supreme Court decides to intervene, which is quite the long shot.

Kilpatrick was found guilty of two dozen crimes in 2013, including tax evasion and bribery.

A three-judge panel in August affirmed the conviction, but Kilpatrick asked the full appeals court to hear the case.

His appeal centered on an alleged conflict among his trial attorneys.

In an order filed Wednesday, the court said no judge was even interested in taking a vote.
