Federal tax cuts could reduce utility bills in Michigan
Energy companies in Michigan are likely to receive massive tax cuts thanks to the new federal tax overhaul. That means customers could eventually see lower electric and gas bills.
The Michigan Public Service Commission has asked 13 energy companies across to state to study the impact of the tax cuts and how any savings will be passed on to customers. The deadline for submissions is today.
Commissioner Rachael Eubanks joined Morning Edition host Doug Tribou to discuss the kinds of rate reductions that might happen, and which companies are affected.
