Randall Margraves, father of three victims, tackled to the ground for rushing the defense desk during Larry Nassar's sentencing hearing.

Moments after asking for five minutes alone with Larry Nassar, Randall Margraves, a father of three of Nassar's victims, made a run at the defense desk.

The incident occurred during Nassar's sentencing in Eaton County. Many in the courtroom began crying as the distraught father was tackled to the ground and shouted obscenities while being handcuffed by Eaton County Sheriff's Deputies.

Assistant Attorney General Angela Povilaitis addressed the courtroom saying that physical violence is unacceptable as that allows Nassar "to win."

"Use your words," Povalaitis says, "You cannot use physical violence."

Margraves has three daughters who were abused by Nassar.

The former sports doctor pled guilty to multiple counts of sexual assault and has been sentenced to 40 to 175 years in prison. More than 200 victims have come forward to speak about being abused by Nassar over a twenty year period under the guise of medical treatment.

Update, Friday, February 2 at 12:30 p.m:

Margraves returned to the courtroom in handcuffs during a break in the sentencing. He apologized for his earlier behavior.

"I came solely for the support of my daughters today. I've calmed down. I'm embarrassed. I didn't come here to upstage my daughters, I came here to help them heal."

Judge Cunningham noted that contempt could be punished with a fine, imprisonment, or both. She ordered him released with no civil punishment, but it will be up to the prosecutor's office as to whether Margraves will face criminal charges.

Clarification: An earlier version of this post stated Margraves will face no punishment. However, it is possible that he will face criminal charges.
