Gov. Snyder calls request for FBI to investigate AG Schuette a “serious matter”
Governor Rick Snyder is calling a request for the FBI to investigate Michigan attorney general Bill Schuette "a serious matter."
Last week, the Ingham County prosecutor asked the FBI to investigate claims that Schuette improperly used staff in his state office to witness sales of property he inherited.
In a statement, Governor Snyder said, “it’s important that the FBI be allowed to do a thorough investigation without any undue influence."
Schuette has denied any wrongdoing and called the investigation a smear campaign.
Schuette is running for the Republican nomination for governor.
