Mackinac Bridge reopen after bomb threat Sunday afternoon
The Mackinac Bridge was closed to all traffic in both directions for more than two hours Sunday afternoon because of a bomb threat.
The Mackinac Bridge Authority tweeted that law enforcement notified officials about the threat shortly after 2p.m. The bridge was reopened after 5p.m. following a search of the span.
Law enforcement notified the MBA of a bomb threat on the bridge; MBA closed the bridge at 2:15 p.m. After an extensive search, nothing has been found. Mackinac City Police are leading the investigation into the incident, according to Michigan State Police. No other information was immediately available.
