President Obama will be in Michigan Saturday to campaign for Democratic candidates Mark Schauer and Gary Peters.

Zoe Clark, co-host of Michigan Radio's "It's Just Politics," says the president's visit to Michigan is a key element of the Democratic Party’s push for voters to turn out for midterm elections. While Michigan is traditionally a Democratic state, with more registered Democratic voters, historically these voters don’t turn out for midterm elections.

Clark says Obama’s message is simple: “Get out to vote, we need you if we are going to win.”

She says 900,000 registered Democrats did not vote in the 2010 midterm elections.
