The hidden marketplace where your hacked information is exposed

Jul 6, 2016

We hear so much about data breaches and hacked passwords, but what is it really all about? What does an attacker do with your passwords, credit card information and other hacked data?

Thomas Holt is a professor of criminal justice at Michigan State University. He explores these questions in a recent article on TheConversation.com. According to Holt, there is a hidden, and often times not-so-hidden, marketplace where hacked information is bought and sold. Listen to the full interview above to hear Holt's advice on how to keep your information safe and how to know if you may have been hacked.
