Stateside: Thursday, Oct. 19, 2023
On today's episode of Stateside, we covered the public corruption case of Rick Johnson, former Michigan House Speaker and Chairperson of the Michigan Medical Marijuana Licensing Board, and how this case affects the average voter. Johnson was sentenced to 55 months in federal prison for bribery. Then, we spoke with the author of "Jawbreaker," about her new middle grade book. We also talked to two Wayne State professors who will be speaking at tonight's student gathering on what's happening in Israel and Palestine about how the region's history is taught and what's often left out of the conversation.
