Fans will notice enhanced security at this week’s U of M - Ohio State football game.

There will be a lot on the line on the field at the Big House when the Wolverines and the Buckeyes face off on Saturday.

The lines to get in will be big too.

U of M says there will be enhanced security at the game, with more screening of fans. Anyone who refuses to be searched will not be allowed in.

“We want this to be a safe environment for our patrons and area neighbors,” said Joe Piersante, director of University Security Services with UM’s Division of Public Safety and Security. “We regularly analyze our security plans and make modifications as necessary.”

University officials insist “there currently are no known specific safety threats,” but say the security is being added out of “an abundance of caution."

Recently, terrorists have targeted sporting events in Europe, including an attempted bombing at an international soccer match in Paris.
