New book documents the life of James Jesse Strang, self-professed Mormon monarch of Beaver Island

  • Miles Harvey is an author. He wrote a biography about James Jesse Strang, the man who proclaimed himself a Mormon king and held court on Beaver Island. The book is called “The King of Confidence,” and was published last summer.
